Michael Wright is one of the hottest new designers on the west coast scene. His namesake clothing line is anything but ordinary. It features upscale yarn accented hoodies and t-shirts for men. Michael describes his clothing as bringing your grandma to the modern day. The visionary 23-year-old has found a way to reincarnate a thread that many thought had been banished to hats, scarves, gloves and sweaters. Now, with Michael Wright clothing yarn has found a new purpose and can be found among some of the most cutting edge hip hop wardrobes.

The Michael Wright line has been in existence two years and is gaining momentum among some of Hollywood’s finest. Singer Akon can be seen rocking Michael Wright in the video showcasing his collaboration on the song “Girls” by Beenie Man and Lil Fizz, formerly of B2K, is gracing the cover of his new album Pay Day in Michael Wright.

A native of Inglewood, California, Michael received his formal fashion design training from Los Angeles Trade Tech College and has been designing clothes for four years. He has worked with such notable clothing lines as Meoshe and Karl Kani and credits his fashionistic swagger to his inspirations music/fashion moguls Russell Simmons and Sean “P Diddy” Combs. Although, Michael’s motivation is the memory of his deceased brother, Quinton, who always supported and encouraged Michael’s talent.
